Rob Gronkowski had a funny reaction when he heard a surprise joke about Bill Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. The moment was captured on camera.
The former New England Patriots tight end, 36, appeared on the latest episode of the YouTube series Sundae Conversation with Caleb Pressley. The episode was released on Sunday, May 18. During the show, they talked about Gronkowski’s life after retiring from football and the NFL draft picks for the upcoming season.
At one point, Pressley, 32, said, “Bill’s picked up a 24-year-old.”
Gronkowski, who grew up near Buffalo, replied, “The Buffalo Bills?”
Pressley then said, “No. Have you met Coach Belichick’s girlfriend?” with a serious tone.
This made Gronkowski laugh hard. He later said, “He got me. How did I fall for that one?”
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Gronkowski said he is tired of all the talk about Belichick’s personal life. He also shared what he thinks Belichick can do to stop the rumors.
“Bill has to produce,” Gronkowski said on the red carpet at the YouTube Brandcast upfront on May 14. “I will be watching, and I want to see him win some games. If he wins, people will stop talking about it. That would be fun to see.”
Gronkowski also suggested that Hudson might be a distraction for Belichick, who is now the head coach at the University of North Carolina.
“You know, when you were with the Patriots, the goal was to avoid any distractions,” Gronkowski told 98.5 The Sports Hub. “We didn’t want distractions in the locker room. But now, looking at North Carolina’s program, it feels like there are distractions all the time. There is no real football talk.”
Belichick has faced many questions about his personal life recently. He has said his relationship with Hudson does not affect his coaching.
On May 13, Belichick told ESPN that his relationship with Hudson is “off to the side” and that “she doesn’t have anything to do with UNC football.”
On the same day, UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham denied rumors that Hudson was banned from the school’s athletics department or facilities.
“Bill has been great to work with,” Cunningham told ESPN. “He talks about practicing like a pro. He runs a professional organization that teaches students to be professional in all parts of their lives. He is determined and professional, and that shows in how he leads the program.”
