Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic was visibly upset after his team’s heavy 125–93 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Sunday’s Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals.
This defeat means the Nuggets have been eliminated in the semifinals for the second year in a row since their NBA championship win in 2023. It is another missed chance for Jokic, who is widely regarded as the league’s best player in his prime.
When asked how he plans to handle the loss in the coming days, Jokic gave a simple and honest reply.
“The next couple of days is gonna be a lot of beer probably,” Jokic said with a dry sense of humor.
Despite the disappointment, Jokic is expected to return next season. The Nuggets hope he will come back stronger as the team aims for another championship run. For now, Jokic will reflect on the loss and focus on how to help his team reach the top again next year and beyond, as he pursues his second NBA title.
