Joe Cole Jokes ‘Hope My Wife’s Not Watching’ During Son Search

by Diana Ward

Joe Cole found himself a bit distracted while doing his pundit job after Wednesday’s Europa Conference League final.

His former team, Chelsea, were losing 1-0 at half-time in Poland. But they came back strong in the second half with goals from Enzo Fernandez, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Moises Caicedo.

After the final whistle, there were joyful scenes as Chelsea lifted the trophy. Players were joined by staff, family, and friends on the pitch. Cole brought his son, Harrison, onto the field to enjoy the special moment.

But things took a turn when TNT Sports showed Cole and the rest of the pundits on the touchline. Cole, along with Steve Sidwell and Michail Antonio, appeared to be looking around the crowd with worried faces.

“I’ve lost the kids as well,” Cole said in a sheepish tone, while Sidwell tried to explain the situation to viewers.

“Joe brought his boy out onto the pitch,” Sidwell said. “He’s probably got the trophy or lifting it somewhere.”

Cole then joked, “He’s on there somewhere hopefully. I hope my wife’s not watching this.”

The presenter laughed and said, “Parenting 101 by Joe Cole,” before the team returned to discussing the match.
