A young man from Quebec City is now able to relax after winning $1,000 a week for life.
Cameron McKenzie stopped at a Couche-Tard store in the Val-Bélair area. He noticed a limited edition Winner for Life ticket displayed at the counter.
He asked the clerk if anyone had ever won the prize before. The clerk said, “No.”
McKenzie joked, “I’ll be the winner,” as he bought the ticket.
That evening, when he scratched off the foil, he saw three LIFE symbols. He had won the prize.
McKenzie is in his 20s and hopes to become a police officer. He says the money will help him focus on his studies.
He bought the winning ticket at the Couche-Tard located at 1601 Industrielle Ave.
The store will get a $10,000 commission. This amount equals one percent of the prize.
Since the start of 2025, Loto-Quebec says seven jackpots of $1,000 per week for life have been won in the Winner for Life lottery.
