Tom Cruise’s Shocking Career Hint Led to Many ‘Mission: Impossible’ Jokes

by Diana Ward

Tom Cruise recently made bold and surprising comments about his career. But if anyone can back up such claims, it is the star of Mission: Impossible himself.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cruise talked about his love for making movies, especially action films. The 62-year-old actor, who stars in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, performs all his own stunts. The stunts in the new film are some of the most daring he has ever done.

During the interview, Cruise was asked about his earlier praise for Harrison Ford, who at 82 has continued to act in many films. When asked if he still planned to keep making Mission: Impossible movies until he was 80, Cruise didn’t just agree—he went further.

“I actually said I’m going to make movies into my 80s; actually, I’m going to make them into my 100s,” Cruise said.

“I will never stop. I will never stop doing action, I will never stop doing drama, comedy films — I’m excited,” he added.

Cruise spoke seriously. There was no hint of sarcasm. While his plan might seem unrealistic, his passion for acting is clear and impressive.

After his comments went viral, fans showed a mix of respect and humor. Many joked about Cruise starring in Mission: Impossible films when he is 80 or even 100 years old.

One fan wrote, “I personally can’t wait to see Mission Impossible 27: The Sundowner Protocols.”

Another joked, “Can’t wait to see Mission Impossible 20 where he has to open his own jars.”

Others made light of Cruise doing stunts in a wheelchair. “Wheelchair chases are going to be intense,” one fan said.

Some fans also predicted many more sequels. “O crap, then we will have Mission Impossible 30,” wrote another.

One comment humorously said, “By MI20, he’ll be fully embodied into an Android.”

Not all comments were jokes. Some fans praised Cruise’s dedication and asked for more comedy roles from him.

“Tom Cruise really shows relentless passion,” said one fan with a fire emoji. Another added, “It’s refreshing to see such passion in art nowadays! I love it!”

One fan hoped for more comedies from Cruise, saying, “His role in Tropic Thunder brought his career back to mainstream fame.”

While it may be unlikely that Cruise will perform Mission: Impossible stunts at age 100, he could still follow Harrison Ford’s example and keep acting well into his 80s. Only time will tell, but his passion for acting is undeniable.
