On the May 7 episode of TODAY with Jenna & Friends, Jenna Bush Hager jokingly revealed the one woman who could potentially make her leave her husband, Henry Hager.
While chatting with guest co-host Matt Rogers, Jenna recalled attending an Elton John concert two years ago. Rogers asked if she had heard John’s latest record, Who Believes in Angels?, which features Brandi Carlile.
“Yeah. Do you know that Brandi Carlile is the woman I would leave my husband for?” Jenna responded with a laugh.
Rogers was taken aback, responding with a surprised, “Wow! Did the audience know that?”
Jenna added, “I’m not sure I ever said it exactly straight out, but she is.”
Rogers, jokingly playing along, remarked, “See, that’s good. I feel like a true journalist now,” suggesting that her comment would be “headline news.”
Despite the playful remarks, Jenna quickly reassured her audience that her marriage is strong.
“But I’m not leaving my husband at all. See? There’s a ring,” she said, pointing to her wedding band.
Jenna and Henry will soon celebrate their 17th wedding anniversary on May 10. Henry co-hosted TODAY with Jenna & Friends earlier this year in March and April. The couple took a lie detector test during their time on the show and shared fun details about their relationship, including the story of their first kiss.
“I’m just going to say it,” Jenna recalled during that appearance. “It was to Lil’ Troy, a song we can’t say on TV. Lil’ Troy was a rapper back in the day. We were dancing, and all of a sudden, you shot your shot.”
Henry added with a laugh, “Well, I don’t think you can say that on the 10 a.m. hour of television, but I went in for the kiss.”
