Bill Belichick, the former New England Patriots coach, has been private about his personal life and his relationship with his young girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. However, he recently answered one question about a date they shared.
In March, Hudson posted photos and a video on Instagram showing them doing beach yoga together. In the clip, Belichick is lying on his back on a towel while lifting the 24-year-old Hudson on his legs.
On Friday’s episode of the Pivot podcast, former NFL players and hosts Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder joked about Belichick joining his ex-cheerleader girlfriend for the workout, saying he was “trying to stay young.”
Belichick praised Hudson’s role in his new book, The Art of Winning, calling her his “creative muse” and “idea mill.”
He also addressed reports that Hudson was a distraction to his coaching job at the University of North Carolina, including claims that she was banned from practices. These rumors followed a recent CBS interview where Hudson interrupted when the conversation got personal.
Belichick rejected the distraction claims. He said, “What she does helps me spend more time on football, and that’s what’s important to me.”
He explained that Hudson does not assist directly with his coaching duties but helps with his personal engagements. He said, “It could be a speaking event, an appearance, or someone wanting an autograph, and she helps organize those things for me.”
Belichick’s podcast appearance came after he avoided similar questions from Michael Strahan on Good Morning America. When Strahan asked, “What does Jordon mean to you?” Belichick replied, “Well, we have a good personal relationship… You know, I’m not talking about personal relationships, Michael. You know that.”
Strahan laughed and said, “I know that, coach!” but kept asking, “Are you happy? You look happy. Only happy people do yoga.”
