Actor Dakota Johnson handled a minor wardrobe mishap with humor during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night, June 3.
While chatting with Fallon on the NBC late-night show, Johnson admitted she was unsure about her outfit choice. “This is the wrong outfit,” she said with a nervous smile. Fallon tried to comfort her, saying, “I think it’s perfect, just don’t move.” Johnson responded with a playful remark: “My eyes are up here.”
A Tissue Saves the Moment
Still looking a bit uncomfortable, Johnson asked, “Tell me if there’s a problem.” Fallon assured her there wasn’t one—just “almost” a problem. Not wanting to risk it, Johnson joked about needing a blanket to cover up. With nothing else nearby, Fallon handed her a tissue.
Johnson tucked the tissue into her outfit and laughed as it worked as a quick fix. “It covered everything,” she said in mock relief.
Fallon joked that he had “ruined her outfit,” to which Johnson responded by pulling out the tissue and handing it back. “Do you want to keep this?” she asked with a grin. Fallon didn’t miss a beat: “I’m putting this on eBay this evening.”
‘Materialists’ Takes the Spotlight
Johnson appeared on the show to promote her upcoming film, Materialists. However, the spontaneous tissue moment quickly became the highlight of the evening.
Directed by Past Lives filmmaker Celine Song, Materialists also stars Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. The film is produced by A24 and will be distributed globally by Sony Pictures Releasing International.
Materialists is scheduled to hit theaters on June 13, 2025.
