President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. made a lighthearted comment about the recent Cabinet reshuffle on Thursday. This move is part of his effort to adjust and improve his administration.
At the beginning of his speech, given during the presentation of newly enacted laws, Marcos greeted the audience, which was mostly made up of government officials. He then joked, “Wait, do I still have Cabinet members? Who am I addressing now? We are in flux.”
The President had earlier asked all Cabinet secretaries, heads of agencies with cabinet ranks, and presidential advisers to submit courtesy resignations. This was meant to give him flexibility to reorganize his team.
Marcos made this request after saying that the results of the 2025 elections showed that people are “tired of politics and disappointed with the government.”
Just hours after Marcos issued his order, some Cabinet members, including Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, already submitted their courtesy resignations.
