Erika Jayne, star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, made a playful prediction at BravoCon about Dorit Kemsley and her husband PK Kemsley being the next Bravo couple to split. Erika’s joke proved true when Dorit recently filed for divorce. With Dorit now single, Erika had a suggestion for her next potential partner—rocker John Mellencamp.
The divorce followed after PK was seen kissing The Amazing Race alum Shana Wall, which led Dorit to take legal action. On her podcast, Diamonds in the Rough, Erika and co-host Teddi Mellencamp discussed the idea of Dorit dating Teddi’s father, John Mellencamp.
“I think John should get with Dorit,” Erika said, suggesting the match. Teddi was initially taken aback. “They could talk each other’s ears off,” she responded humorously. Erika then brought up the fact that John had been a consistent source of support for Teddi during her battle with cancer.
The two then joked about John’s private plane. Teddi shared her experience flying with John, noting, “He rarely lets me ride on his plane, and when he does, it’s filled with cigarette smoke.” In a quirky twist, both Dorit and John are smokers and prefer the same brand—American Spirits.
“They could smoke American Spirits, fly around in the private plane, and talk each other’s ears off,” Teddi added. However, she raised a concern about whether John’s private plane would be big enough for Dorit’s specific travel preferences, which RHOBH fans are familiar with.
Despite this, Erika remained enthusiastic about the idea. “This might be a good match,” she said. “We need to get your father and Dorit together.”
There are a few hurdles to the imagined relationship, though. For one, John doesn’t drink, meaning Dorit would have to part with her favorite cocktail—Belvedere Vodka with club soda and three lemons. Also, John is currently in a relationship with Kristin Kehrberg, whom he has been dating since 2023.
“We love you, Kristin, but if it doesn’t work out,” Teddi quipped, “we’ve got Dorit here in the corner.” Erika, feeling awkward, added, “I’m so sorry! I didn’t know!”
