Television personality Jun Hyun-moo sparked laughter on May 11 during the KBS2 show Boss’s Ears Are Donkey Ears when he joked, “My hobby is marriage,” in response to a discussion about marriage.
The episode featured a segment on broadcaster Hong Joo-yeon’s upcoming challenge on Immortal Songs. Hong revealed that she had been invited to appear on the show, prompting a surprised reaction from Eom Ji-in, who joked, “You’re going to sing? Did I hear that wrong?” Known for her poor singing skills, Hong faced teasing from the cast. Park Myung-soo then turned to Jun Hyun-moo, asking, “Why isn’t Marlee stopping you? Did you two fight?” Jun Hyun-moo shook his head, replying, “This will make the news about a fight.”
Eom Ji-in questioned the special feature of Hong’s appearance, to which Hong responded, “A variety show soaring stock.” Eom, still skeptical, said, “Honestly, I understand the soaring stock due to Senior Hyun-moo, but isn’t this about singing? Joo-yeon, haven’t you heard the singing?” Jun Hyun-moo defended her, joking, “If you show that singing skill, it could really soar. It’s a complete soaring stock for variety shows,” causing more laughter.
The conversation shifted as Eom Ji-in boasted, “It’s not Hong Joo-yeon, it’s me. I know because I went on Immortal Songs.” He proudly mentioned, “I ranked first in viewership ratings last year,” drawing some playful jeers. When Eom asked about the show’s lineup, Hong revealed that Kim Dae-ho would be appearing. Eom expressed concern about the competition between MBC and KBS announcers, wondering, “Can Joo-yeon handle it?”
Jun Hyun-moo, who is close to Kim Dae-ho, reassured him, saying, “Don’t worry, Kim Dae-ho can’t sing at all. He’s incredibly bad. It’s shocking.” Kim Sook then asked Jun Hyun-moo, “Who will you cheer for, Hong Joo-yeon or Kim Dae-ho?”
Park Myung-soo quickly responded, “It must be your wife, of course.” Kim Sook pressed further, “Is it your best friend or your wife?” Jun Hyun-moo answered without hesitation, “Definitely my wife. And besides that, I definitely need to support KBS,” which earned applause. Eom Ji-in joked, “Then if I went out, it’d be me and Kim Dae-ho,” and Jun Hyun-moo instantly replied, “Kim Dae-ho,” sparking laughter.
In a separate segment, Lee Soon-sil visited a Pyongyang cold noodles restaurant run by Chef Yoon Sun-hee, winner of Korean Food War 3, as part of his plans to open his own cold noodle business. He praised the restaurant’s neat kitchen and commented, “People from Hamgyeong are meticulous homemakers.”
Park Myung-soo joked, “Hyun-moo can get married there.” Jun Hyun-moo, startled, replied, “Am I marrying again?” Lee Soon-sil joked, “You can. I have plenty of great people around me. They are pretty. There are defectors lined up,” which made Jun Hyun-moo laugh. He responded, “Is my hobby marriage?” Kim Sook added, “How many times are you going to get married on Boss’s Ears?” and the group burst into laughter.
